Tesla FSD Supervised is approved in Croatia, the eighth country in Europe
Croatia approved Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) on September 29, 2026, the third European approval in September and the eighth since the Netherlands opened the door in April. Here is what owners there get and what comes next.

Updated 2026-09-30.
Croatia has approved Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised). Tesla Europe confirmed it on September 29 with a short post: approved, and the rollout "will begin soon." That makes Croatia the eighth European country to clear FSD Supervised, and the third in September alone, according to Tesla North's roundup of the approval.
What the approval covers
FSD (Supervised) handles steering, acceleration and braking on city streets and highways, while the driver keeps their eyes on the road and stays responsible for the car. RTE's report on the decision describes it in exactly those terms. Nothing about the supervision requirement changes at the border: it is the same product owners in the Netherlands and Czechia already use.
For Croatian owners, the practical next step is simple. Keep the car on Wi-Fi and watch for the software update that switches the feature on. Tesla has not given a date beyond "soon."
Eight countries and counting
Europe went country by country this year, and the pace picked up fast. The list so far, in order:
- The Netherlands, April 10, the first approval in Europe
- Lithuania, May 20
- Estonia, May 29
- Denmark, June 9
- Belgium, June 10
- Slovenia, September 7
- Czechia, September 21 (we covered it in Czechia becomes the seventh EU country)
- Croatia, September 29
Three approvals in one month is the clearest sign yet that national regulators are comfortable reviewing the same system Tesla has been refining for years in North America.
What about the rest of the EU?
A single EU-wide decision would let Tesla switch FSD Supervised on across the bloc at once. That vote needs a qualified majority: 15 of the 27 member states, representing 65% of the EU's population. A committee vote had been pencilled in for October; RTE now reports the next realistic opportunity is not before December, so national approvals remain the route for now.
That is not a bad position to be in. Every country that approves adds real-world miles in European conditions, which is exactly the evidence a bloc-wide vote will weigh.
Why this matters if you drive a Tesla in Europe
FSD has been the feature European owners asked about most for years. It now works for drivers in eight countries, with more reviews underway. If you are planning a road trip down the Adriatic coast next summer, there is a good chance your car will help with the driving.
While you wait for the update, you can make the car on your screen look the way you want: Tesla Paint Shop works across Europe today, and our guide to sending a wrap from your phone takes about two minutes.
