Tesla Model X wraps and the Model X template
Tesla publishes one Model X template, labeled Model X (2021+), so there's no version to choose: every design here is made on that same file. It is a 1024 by 1024 PNG, the same size as the Model 3, Model Y and Model S templates, but laid out around a very different body.
The big difference is the doors. The rear falcon wing doors hinge from the roof, so a stripe that runs from the front door into the rear one meets a seam where the door lifts. Plan stripes and graphics to stop at that seam rather than run through it.
The most popular Model X wrap styles
The Model X windshield sweeps up over the front seats, so there is less roof to paint and the doors and rear quarters carry most of a design. Luxury two-tones, liquid chrome and carbon with red neon suit those tall, smooth sides, and seasonal sets like candy-cane Christmas, evergreen and gold, and graveyard Halloween fog come in Model X versions.
Lighter colors over a darker lower body keep a body this tall from turning into one dark block on the screen, and racing lines can run a touch wider than on a sedan because the hood is broad.
Digital Model X wrap or real vinyl?
A full vinyl wrap on a Model X usually costs $3,500 to $6,000 at a professional shop, because there's far more body to cover than on a sedan. A digital wrap costs nothing: Paint Shop draws your design on the 3D Model X on the touchscreen and in the Tesla app, and you can swap it anytime.
Settle on the color on screen first. A few weeks of living with a digital wrap costs nothing and can save you from a film you would tire of.
How to put a custom wrap on your Model X
The Model X gained the full Paint Shop with Tesla's 2026 Spring Update and app uploads with the Summer Update. Save any design above with Download Wrap, then in the Tesla app go to Creations, then Wrap, then Upload. It needs Tesla app 4.59.1 or newer and car software 2026.26 or newer.
On a USB drive, the PNG goes in a folder named Wraps at the root of an exFAT or FAT32 drive. Plug it in, then choose the design in Toybox, then Paint Shop, then Wraps.
Tesla Model X wrap FAQ
Are these real vinyl wraps for the Tesla Model X?
These are digital wraps: Tesla's Paint Shop shows your design on the car drawn on the Tesla Model X's touchscreen and in the Tesla app. Design in the browser, export a PNG, and upload it from the Tesla app or over USB. Swap it anytime.
Does the Model X have a 3D preview?
Yes. The Model X renders on its own rotating 3D model in the studio and the Garage, so you see the wrap on real body panels before exporting.
Are Model X wraps free?
Yes. Browsing, designing and downloading wraps on FrunkLab is free. Paid plans add more AI generations per month.
Do falcon wing doors affect a Model X wrap?
A little. The rear doors hinge from the roof, so the template splits the side where they open. Stop stripes and graphics at that seam and the design stays clean on the screen.
What is the best wrap for a Tesla Model X?
Luxury and chrome looks suit the Model X best, because its tall, smooth doors take a big reflection or a two-tone split well. Keep the lower body darker so the big SUV still looks planted.
What size is a Tesla Model X wrap file?
A Model X wrap is a PNG at 1024 by 1024 pixels, under 1 MB, with a filename of up to 30 letters, numbers, spaces, underscores or dashes.
