Tesla Christmas wrap ideas: festive Paint Shop designs for every model

A Christmas wrap is the best reason there is to try a digital wrap. It goes on your Tesla's screen after Thanksgiving, it makes everyone who gets in the car smile, and it comes off in January without a trace. Nobody would pay a shop to put candy-cane stripes on a Model Y for five weeks. On the car's screen, it costs nothing and takes two minutes.

We made two holiday collections for this guide, each built for every Tesla model: a loud candy-cane design and a quiet evergreen-and-gold one. Below is how each looks on every car, what makes a festive wrap work at the size the car draws it, and prompts to make your own.

Two ways to do Christmas

Holiday designs split into two moods, and it's worth deciding which one you want before you start.

Bold and playful. Red and white, big diagonal stripes, a scatter of snowflakes. It's cheerful, it reads instantly, and it looks great in photos of the car's screen. The risk is that it tips into novelty, which is fine for December and exactly the point.

Elegant and warm. Deep green, gold and a touch of red, like a wrapped present or a pine garland. It looks expensive and grown-up, and it's the one people keep on into January.

Collection one: Candy Cane Christmas

Glossy candy-apple red with bold white candy-cane stripes wrapping the hood, doors and trunk, a thin mint pinstripe beside each white stripe, and a light snowfall on the roof and rear quarters. Open any of these, tap Download Wrap, and upload it in the Tesla app under Creations > Wrap > Upload.

The stripes are the whole idea, so they're big. Thin candy-cane stripes turn pink at the size the car shows its 3D model, and wide ones stay crisply red and white.

Collection two: Evergreen and Gold

A deep evergreen metallic body with fine gold snowflakes, one wide satin-red ribbon running from the hood over the roof to the trunk, and a frosted silver fade along the rocker panels, like snow thrown up from the road.

The ribbon is what makes it read as a present rather than a green car. From the car's default 3D view, looking down on the hood, it's the first thing you see.

What makes a holiday wrap work

Commit to two or three colors. Red, white and green together can look like a flag rather than a holiday. Each collection above uses one base color and one or two accents. The color guide has pairings that keep enough contrast on the car's screen.

Go bigger than feels right. The car draws its 3D model about the size of your hand. Snowflakes, ornaments and stripes need to be much larger than they would be on wrapping paper, or they blur into texture.

Keep it shape-based. Snowflakes, stars, ribbons, stripes and pine branches all read at any size because they're pure silhouettes. Detailed scenes don't.

Skip characters and lettering. A cartoon character at hand size is a smudge, and characters from films belong to someone else, so they aren't allowed in the gallery and the AI generator declines them. "Merry Christmas" in script distorts over the curves. Let the palette say it.

How it lands on each model

Model S and Model X. The long hood is the best place on any Tesla for the ribbon. On the Model X, the tall falcon-wing doors carry the snowflakes well.

Open the studio, pick your model, and either build a holiday wrap from layers or describe it to the AI generator. The prompt behind the evergreen collection:

Variations that come out well:

• Swap the green for "midnight navy" and the gold for "silver" for a winter-night look that works through February.
• Replace the ribbon with "a band of small twinkling string lights along the shoulder line" for something cozier.
• Try "snow-white base with icy blue snowflakes and a frosted glass fade" for a winter wonderland without any red at all.

Finish it with a holiday lock chime

A Christmas wrap and the stock lock sound is a missed opportunity. The AI lock chime generator will make a short sleigh-bell jingle or a two-note chime from a sentence, and melody chimes are free, up to five a day. Save it as LockChime.wav at the root of a USB drive, plug it in, and turn it on under Controls > Locks. The lock sound library has more festive options. Swapping it back in January

Your Tesla holds up to ten wraps from the app and ten more from USB, so the holiday wrap doesn't have to replace your everyday one. Load it alongside, pick it in Toybox > Paint Shop > Wraps for December, and pick your usual wrap again in January. Can a Tesla show a Christmas wrap? Yes. Every current Model 3, Model Y, Cybertruck, Model S and Model X with Paint Shop can show a custom PNG wrap on its screens and in the Tesla app. Upload it from the app under Creations, then Wrap, then Upload, or from a USB drive, and pick it in Toybox, then Paint Shop, then Wraps.

Does a digital Christmas wrap change the car's paint? No. A digital wrap only changes how the car looks on its own screens and in the app. The real paint is untouched, which is what makes a five-week holiday design practical.

Can I put Santa or a movie character on my wrap? Characters from films and shows belong to their owners, so they aren't allowed in the gallery and the AI generator declines them.
