Cybertruck wrap ideas: designs that work on flat steel, from cyberpunk to camo

By FrunkLabSeptember 23, 20266 min read

The Cybertruck is the Tesla that wraps best, for a simple reason: it's flat. Every panel is a plane, so a graphic goes on without the stretching and bending a curved car forces on it. A stripe stays a stripe, and a pattern stays in proportion from the bumper to the bed.

It's also a harder truck to improve on than people expect. Bare stainless steel is a strong look already, so the best Cybertruck wraps either lean into the truck's sci-fi angles or cover the steel with something just as bold. This guide covers the ideas that do that, and links a free Paint Shop file for each one you can put on your truck's screen tonight.

What the Cybertruck's shape asks for

Big flat triangles. The sides are two long flat planes that meet at a sharp shoulder. Designs with straight edges and hard angles look native here. Soft organic shapes look out of place.

One huge windshield. The Cybertruck draws its windshield and roof as one big dark triangle. Anything that touches that edge gets cut off hard, so keep graphics off the glass line.

The bed cover is a billboard. From above, the tonneau cover is the biggest flat surface on any Tesla. It's where the boldest part of a design belongs.

Ideas that work

Cyberpunk and neon

The Cybertruck looks like it drove out of a science fiction film, so a cyberpunk wrap is the most natural fit there is. Neon lines on a black base follow the hard angles perfectly. Chrome Cyberpunk is a strong one, and the cyberpunk and neon pages have plenty more.

Matte black

A matte black Cybertruck is one of the most requested looks, and the flat panels show a matte finish at its best. Space Armor is a clean matte black take. Browse the matte Cybertruck page for more.

Orange accents

Orange on black looks great on the Cybertruck, maybe because the truck already looks like equipment. Orange Streak is our most downloaded Cybertruck wrap: a black body with one sharp orange gradient. Bitcoin Blaze runs the same palette with a techier edge.

Camo

Camo on a Cybertruck makes it look like a vehicle from a near-future military, and the flat panels keep the pattern crisp. Try Tactical Woodland Camo, the Digital Combat Camo, or the seasonal Autumn Camo. The camo page collects the rest.

Racing lines

Two lines down the middle, from the front light bar over the roof ridge to the tailgate, suit the Cybertruck's long flat top. Street Racer and Stealth Circuit Racer both do it, and the racing page has more.

Gold and luxury

A gold Cybertruck is excessive in exactly the right way. Money Moves is one of the most downloaded Cybertruck wraps we host, and Golden Brew Infusion is a quieter gold.

Anime and itasha

Anime wraps, called itasha in Japan, are a growing Cybertruck trend, because the long flat sides are a perfect canvas for a big character panel or an energy burst. Anime Pink Sparkle is a good starting point. If you make your own, keep it to original art: characters from existing shows aren't allowed in our gallery, and the AI generator declines them.

Space and patriotic

Event Horizon Nebula turns the whole truck into deep space, and it's one of the most liked Cybertruck wraps in the gallery. For something more American, American Patriot runs red, white and blue over the flat panels. Retro fans should browse the retro page, and minimalists the minimal page.

How the Cybertruck template is different

Every other current Tesla uses a square 1024 by 1024 Paint Shop template. The Cybertruck's is 1024 by 768, and it's laid out sideways: the front of the truck is on the left, the rear on the right, and the two doors sit along the top and bottom edges. If you design your own in an image editor, that layout is the thing that trips people up.

The studio handles it for you. Pick Cybertruck, and the template, the orientation and the body outline are set up before you start. The Cybertruck design tutorial walks through it panel by panel.

What doesn't work on a Cybertruck

  • Graphics on the glass line. The windshield triangle cuts them off hard. Keep an inch of clear body around it.
  • Soft, curvy patterns. Swirls and florals fight the truck's straight edges. Angles win.
  • Tiny detail. The flat sides are big, so small patterns look lost. Go bigger than you think.
  • Plain silver. It looks like the unwrapped truck. If you want steel, make it chrome with a color shift instead.

Try it before you wrap it for real

A full Cybertruck wrap is one of the most expensive in the lineup because the panels are stainless and the truck is big. The cost guide has the numbers. Paint Shop lets you see a design on the truck's own 3D model, in the truck and in the Tesla app, before you spend a cent.

Pick a wrap above, tap Download Wrap, and upload it in the Tesla app under Creations > Wrap > Upload, or put it in a Wraps folder on a USB drive and pick it in Toybox > Paint Shop > Wraps. The phone upload guide has the steps. Every design for the truck is on the Cybertruck wraps page.

To make your own, open the studio, pick Cybertruck, and start from a color, a stripe or an AI prompt. The prompt tutorial has phrasing that works.

Pick the look, then open the studio and put it on the steel.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best wrap for a Cybertruck? Matte black and cyberpunk neon are the most popular Cybertruck looks, because the truck's flat panels and sharp angles suit bold, straight-edged designs. Orange on black is our most downloaded Cybertruck wrap.

Can you wrap a stainless steel Cybertruck? Yes. Vinyl and paint protection film both adhere to the Cybertruck's stainless panels, and the flat surfaces make it easier to wrap than most cars. Previewing the design on the truck's screen first with a digital wrap costs nothing.

What size is the Cybertruck wrap template? The Cybertruck Paint Shop template is 1024 by 768 pixels, laid out sideways with the front of the truck on the left. Every other current Tesla uses a 1024 by 1024 template.

How do I put a custom wrap on my Cybertruck's screen? Download the PNG, then upload it in the Tesla app under Creations, then Wrap, then Upload. You can also copy it into a folder named Wraps at the root of a USB drive and pick it in Toybox, then Paint Shop, then Wraps.

Can I put an anime character on my Cybertruck wrap? Original anime-style art is fine and popular on the Cybertruck. Characters from existing shows belong to their studios, so they aren't allowed in our gallery and the AI generator declines them.
