FSD 14.3.13 rolls out in update 2026.38.5.10: a polish build for Hardware 4, just in time for Halloween

Tesla's software update 2026.38.5.10 brings FSD (Supervised) 14.3.13 to Hardware 4 cars and keeps 14.3 Lite on Hardware 3. The release notes match 14.3.12, early drives say it feels smoother, and Tesla has named Q2 2027 for owners' cars in the Robotaxi network.

What this means for your wrap or lock chime: nothing breaks. 2026.38.5.10 sits on the same branch as the Halloween update, so Halloween Mode, Tesla's four Halloween wraps and its Halloween lock sound stay on your car. Your own wraps still live in Toybox > Paint Shop > Wraps (up to 10 from the Tesla app plus 10 from USB), and a custom LockChime.wav still plays when you pick USB in Toybox > Boombox > Lock Sound.

FSD (Supervised) 14.3.13 started reaching owners overnight on October 20, in Tesla software update 2026.38.5.10. It goes to Hardware 4 cars in North America, while Hardware 3 cars on the same update keep FSD 14.3 Lite, according to Not a Tesla App's FSD tracker, which lists the build as a bug-fix release.

It's moving quickly. By the time of writing, the tracker showed about 39% of the cars it follows already on 2026.38.5.10, three days after the first installs.

What is new in FSD 14.3.13

On paper, nothing. Tesla North reports that the in-car release notes are the same as 14.3.12's, a point owner TimDOES confirmed when it landed on his Cybertruck and Model Y. That means the headline features from earlier this month are all still there:

  • About 20% faster reactions, which Tesla credits to a rewritten AI compiler and runtime.
  • Automatic Collision Evasion, still at the top of the notes. It first arrived in 14.3.9 and is covered in our 14.3.9 post.
  • An upgraded reinforcement learning stage and a new vision encoder for rare and low-visibility scenes.

A build with unchanged notes is usually a polish release, and the first drives fit that. Whole Mars, quoted by Tesla North, said the car reversed out of his driveway "much more quickly than previous versions", parked inside the lines more neatly, and slowed for red lights and turn lanes smoothly. He also noticed that acceleration and braking feel a little different, a new curve he couldn't pin down after three trips.

What comes next

Tesla's notes still carry an "Upcoming Improvements" section with two items: extending the car's reasoning beyond choosing where to go at a destination, and pothole avoidance. Neither is in 14.3.13, but pothole avoidance has been near the top of owner wish lists for years, so it's the one to watch.

The bigger news came on Tesla's Q3 2026 earnings call on October 21. Electrek reports that AI chief Ashok Elluswamy put unsupervised FSD in customer cars at Q2 2027, starting with owners adding their own cars to Tesla's Robotaxi fleet inside the areas where Robotaxi already runs. Tesla's Robotaxi service operates in six US metros and had logged nearly 2 million cumulative unsupervised miles by the end of the third quarter. Our post on 24/7 Robotaxi rides on FSD v15 has the background.

Who gets it

FSD 14.3.13 is for Hardware 4 cars on the FSD branch in North America. Hardware 3 cars get FSD 14.3 Lite in the same update. Rollouts come in waves, so your car may get it a few days after someone else's. Check Controls > Software, and set Software Update Preference to Advanced if you want earlier waves.

Make it a Halloween week

Halloween is a week away, and every car on this branch already has Halloween Mode, with Trick or Treat Mode, the Ghost Costume and Tesla's four Halloween wraps. If you'd rather your car didn't match everyone else's, the Tesla Halloween wrap ideas guide has a free design for every model, and the Cybertruck Halloween wraps page has more than a dozen for the truck alone. Add a spooky sound from our Halloween lock sounds guide and the car is dressed for the week.

Or open the studio and design one nobody else has.
